Hi my name is Dean I've been slacklining for about 6 months , started on ratchet straps then bought 50ft of tube which as served me well until I took it to Tenerife over Christmas...

2 minutes after this picture the line snapped on one of the ratchet scars , so from now on its going to be the pulley system for me , which is a shame because I had a 25m Gibbon bought for Christmas...
Also I have just been given about 1000ft of 40mm

which is a bit wide but gift horse and mouth spring to mind....
Ability is still a bit hit and miss but im putting some serious line time in so should be able to walk a few good lines by summer..
I am based near Rochdale and have a good few local lines that I have found with a few over water scoped out for when its a bit warmer , O.k enough waffling for now and hope to walk a line or two with you guys over the coming year...;D

Hi there Mr Lightly!

Welcome in from the dark side of ratchetts Laughing

When the weather is warmer I'll float some dates to meet up at the water line at the top of the page. Good for swimming too as the water warms up alot.

Are there other slackers around Rochdale?

Jon

Will look forward to that , it looks like a belter , how long is it ?
Not sure about any local people , was hoping for a bit of feedback via this forum , local to me is national if there is anything interesting going down. (and international if there are such trips)
I am just catching up by reading old posts so should be able to walk the walk and talk the talk real soon....

Would be cool to get a crowd of us up there slacking!

I've got a wet suit and would be up for it in the next few weeks if anyone else is in - otherwise it will probaably be May or June before the water will be clement enough for shorts stylee?

Eughh I've not slacked all winter so I'd definitely be getting wet! Save it for summer? haha. But I'd like to meet up and get some tips from others.
Also do you have msn or anything similar Jon?

Err, I'm still at sixth form. And don't have a wet suit so summer would be good for me! I have half term in may though. And I haven't slacked at all this year, so I need to get back into it!

Well, the snow has just turned to torrential rain here Rolling Eyes

Give me a ring if you still want to meet up - but if not no worries - I'm quite happy to sit round drinking coffee today...
